  • David Goldberg

    CO-FOUNDER & CEO

    David Goldberg is the President and Chief Executive of Disaster Relief Strategies, LLC. Focusing on bringing inventive financing solutions to support federally-funded disaster recovery and mitigation projects, David employs his years of experience in emergency management, public administration and the law to provide organizations of all sizes with comprehensive emergency management consulting services, with a focus on bringing creative, focused financing solutions to support federally-funded disaster recovery and mitigation projects.

    Prior to founding Disaster Relief Strategies, David served as Vice President of Disaster Resilience and Recovery for Case Strategies Group. Before that, he also served as Deputy County Attorney for Cabarrus County, NC, where he successfully enforced local wetland protection and other land use ordinances.

    In addition, Goldberg served as an Attorney Advisor with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, where he advised the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and served as a Disaster Field Counsel. His primary practice areas include administrative law, legislative affairs, reinsurance, and insurance law.

    Prior to working with the NFIP, David was a Presidential Management Fellow at FEMA. He has also worked in the North Carolina General Assembly, the City of La Porte, TX’s Office of Emergency Management, and the Safety and Security Division at SAS Institute.

    David earned a Master of Public Administration and a law degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During his graduate studies, he researched the application of the Americans with Disabilities Act in post-disaster shelter environments and local government regulation of disruptive technologies.

    David also earned a Bachelor of Science at the University of North Texas at Denton, majoring in Emergency Administration and Planning. David lives with his wife and two children in Harrisburg, NC.

Erik's dedication to crafting sustainable, effective disaster relief financing underscores his commitment to making a tangible difference in the world.

    Before embarking on his journey with Disaster Relief Strategies, Erik carved out a successful career in the complex arenas of manufacturing and outsourcing. His journey began nearly a decade ago, rooted in the intricate dance of global supply chains and operational efficiency. This experience laid the groundwork for what would become a distinguished career in entrepreneurship and investment.

    Erik's entrepreneurial spirit is not confined to a single industry. He leads an industry-agnostic consultancy that navigates the multifaceted landscapes of aviation, natural resources, claim origination, and litigation finance, all while maintaining a vigorous presence in the manufacturing sector. This versatility not only highlights Erik's adaptability but also his keen insight into identifying and capitalizing on opportunities across diverse markets.

    Education has played a pivotal role in shaping Erik's path. He is a proud alumnus of Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree. The skills and knowledge acquired during his academic career have been indispensable in his professional journey, enabling him to approach challenges with a blend of analytical rigor and creative problem-solving.

  • Alistair Evans

    CO-FOUNDER & CFO

    Alistair Evans serves as the company’s CFO and board member.

    He has over twenty years of experience in financial markets, originally working for a former subsidiary of ED&F Man and as a banker with UBS and Merrill Lynch.

    After being the head of corporate development for a European CTA fund, Alistair spent the last eight years focused on structured products and credit. During this time, he co-founded a specialist listed debt arranger business.

    He has since focused on the growth of his investment vehicle Sequence Capital and its diverse portfolio of investments. Sequence Capital has since established several insolvency remote issuance vehicles, including S1 Series DAC, an Irish SPV issuer.

    Sequence Capital has also invested in a range of businesses, from large ground-mount solar projects in Central and Southern Europe to US consumer NPLs in Atlanta, GA.
